I need to replace the Carburetor on my 85 vf500f because the previous owner broke the mounting tabs. What model years of Carbs can i get for replacements. I know it has to be within 84-86 but are there any major differences in the carbs over those years or are they interchangeable? And what is the best year to get. right now i have access to 84 carbs and 86 carbs. The 84's are much cheaper but is it worth it?

The carbs on the '86 were a little smaller than previous years but would probably still work. I would stick with 84-85 though. I just put some 85 carbs on an 86 motor and they fit but I havent fired it up yet
