need pics of r/r relay wires from 96 vfr

    ok i had got the wires on the relay mixed up while i was cleaning and replacing the terminals and it burned up my r/r now i got a new r/r , and i think the wires are still mixed up and i dont want to burn this one up so could somebody post a clear pic of their 1994-1997 vfr starter relay with the wires so i can get my wire colors correct , thanks and also the 3 yellow wires going to the r/r does it matter if they get mixed up or are they all pretty much the same?thanks guys

    three yellow wires don't matter. Otherwise they would have color coded them. It's 3 phase alternating current and how the phase is doesn't matter.

    There should be photos in your factory service manual. I know there are for the R/R connection.

    well thats good to know bout the 3 yellow wires, Now i just need a pic of theactual starter relay with the wires still hoked up so i can tell which one is which, and i do have a service manual and it shows the wire colors but it does not show in which order they hook up i just need a visual pic so i know for sure thanks guys

    well i got the wires hooked up best from what i could see in that pic, though i do wish i had a better pic to be sure, and my r/r is getting really hot is that normal? i would hate to burn this new one up i just got?

    if everything ohm checks out in accordance with the tests outlined in the factory service manual, then you should be fine. Some heat on the R/R is normal. Hopefully you've inspected the stator to harness plug on the right side of the bike.

    Running hot is normal, more so if the bike is not moving. A few people have installed a computer fan to it, for good measure. I picked one up for this reason, but have not installed it yet. I am still on the original R/R and have not had any problems, so far. knock knock

    hey KARAZY could you post a good pic of your wires going to your starter relay so i can be double sure i got mine hooked up right i would appreciate it so very much but if not its cool
