So I'm less than a month away from getting my first VFR! and I'm looking all over the US, but mostly within the midwest (driving distance). I've found them with mods done and mostly stock. I'd like to get one from an owner who has done some of the mods already, but there is a very nice one close to me that is mostly stock. So here's my idea of the first few that I'd be looking at:

    Touring windshield
    Heli Bars
    Luggage Rack
    HID Headlights
    Grip Heaters

I'd like ideas from you guys on how much these will cost and where to find them for the best deal. Thanks.

I think the touring shield will run you around $100. Sometimes you can find them used. I got a GIVI from one of our members. There are other brands out there, but not positive on the costs.
Heli bars- in the classifieds section, another member is selling helibars and grip warmers (honda OEM) as a package deal. It was only post a couple days ago so they are most likely still there. His cost is cheaper than you would pay to get them new but I forgot exactly how much (just click classifieds and browse accessories).
Luggage rack- gonna vary widely depending on what you get. I got a full givi wingrack and the luggage with it for $250 but that's pretty low as far as I can tell. You can piece it together from sales on ebay and get it as you can afford.
HID- another one that will vary. There is the do-it-right segment where you are gonna spend close to $300 but I think others have managed to pull it off with good results for around $150ish. (I haven't done it so my info may be a little foggy) I want to do that one myself but a mishap redirected my funding this winter.
