I need the vacuum hose routing for the VF1000F or VF1000R

It is not in the shop manual. The shop manual just says to look on the sticker on the gas tank.

A real mistake in my opinion. Someone was not thinking. I thought that WAS the point of a shop manual.

Can someone send me a photo of that sticker or a photo of a drawing etc.,.

    luky@sonic.net THANKS!!!

    Thanks for the response.
My engine is a VF1000R gear driven cam engine. 1985.
I believe my engine is a 49 state version because it does NOT have a vacuum port fitting anywhere on the carbs.
What I would like to know is where do the float bowl vents go to? You know , those fittings on the carbs ,those smaller plastic interconnecting tubes. I have the 84 shop manual and it says there is a vacuum port on carb #3 but there is none and I bought the engine from a motorcycle junk yard in Ohio so it must be a 49 state version.
Do they just vent to atmosphere? THANKS!

The bowl vents do go to atmosphere, they have a little baffle in the end of the hose from the factory .

Wow thanks for the quick reply.

When you say baffle what is that? Is it just a screen or filter ? Is it a one way check valve? THANKS!

It is just a little breather thingy that prevents air pressure from affecting bowls at high speeds. Just route it to a spot where you do not think wind will blow on the hose opening.

Don, I have had my carbs apart recently ( 1984 Bike), and that plastic " T" joint just has a long piece of hose that slips on over it and runs down through the bike and und up pointing down to the ground. In fact, as my bike is 25 years old, the hose is all perished, and I am trying to locate some...Thats the fun and games of a re-build on these things. Even obtaining a fuel filter was a pain in ass, and I ended up getting an exact copy of the original from USA. Then, it wasnt packed properly, and I had to get new ones ( replaced by the vendor no problems). That took another 2 weeks my post. All these things just take time..

    All the best

The front two carbs #4 and #2 are down draft carbs and the rear carbs #1 and #3 are side drafts.
the float bowl vents connect together and "T" into the rear two carbs then onto vent into something.

I just use an all metal cheap fuel filter that I get from a car parts store. I spray paint it black.

Don..all the carbs on mine are downdraft . Re the filter, I bought a nice sexy EARLS and afterwards, realised it was too big, and the hose size was way too big. Some things, I try to keep original.. Aamazed about the carbs. I can e-mail a photo of mine if you want to see difference
