hello all I have a vfr that has some issues (needs a new chain, adjust carbs, back brakes go in and out, and there is a issue with gas flow) Now I could go
take it to a overpriced shop But I would rather pay someone local who knows these bikes inside and out and will help me get it straight and I will pay you for your time. any takers?

    Jesse

I'm in Kennesaw. Viffer is fairly new to me but glad to lend a hand. I have a pretty well stocked garage, I've worked on every other stinking thing I've ever owned. I'm sure we can work it out.

You will need a 530 chain with 112 links. I recommend either RK or DID brand with the rivet type master link NOT the clip type. I've got a chain tool and could help but it would be a couple of weeks before I could make some time. As far as the brake goes can you give more details? Does the pedal bottom out without any response from the bike? Are you losing any brake fluid? If the rear brake needs rebuilding I think I have an extra rear brake assembly from my old 1993 that's yours if you need it. Also need more details on the gas flow issue. Have you done any troubleshooting at all to determine if the issue is with the Petcock, the fuel pump, or the fuel filter?

If you are planning on replacing the brake pads you will need FA142 (front) and FA196 (rear)

    Thanks Rollin

the brakes work fine 80% of the time its just that sometimes the back brake bottoms out and does not work for a few min (like 10/15) then all of a sudden they work again, might need a pressure bleeding, the gas issue Is when i run it with gravity feed gas it runs great when i hook the tank up it seems to bog down, i took the tank apart and made sure all valves were working, If you like we can set a day on a weekend asap and ill bring the bike ( get a chain )with my van and spend a day fixing it? just tell me when and where and about how much you want to help me fix it I don't have a issue getting my hands dirty :)

I am Jesse and I don't know how to privet message you but if you can send a number ill call u

Jesse, if you click on a members name over on the left, you'll get a pop up screen and one of the options is 'Private Message'. Click on that and it will take you to the PM client page...the rest is pretty self explanatory.
