Need Help In A Related Topic..v-65

    I'm Looking At A 83 V65 In A Day Or So . The First Owner Had The Bike Till Last Year Putting On 21000 Miles Or So . Second Owner Had All The Fluids Changed Last Year Along With The Valved Adjusted Ect . I Guess What Im Asking Is What Should I Look For When I See The Bike ? Ive Read Of Cam Problems An Oil Starvation Issues Ect . Can Anyone Share Anything With A Person Who Might Want To Buy One Of These Classic Hot Rods , What To Look For Ect ...thanks In Advance ...jamie..ps ..i Know The Basics In Buying A Bike , I Guess Im Looking For The Quick Sand ...thx

    V65 was a great motor lots of power, torque & speeds, in the magna chassis they tended to have a lot of head shake it was not near as bad in the sabre chassis. They do have the inherent cam & oiling problems you mentioned & the 65's never did go to a gear driven set up they remained chain drive til the end of production. I've heard of cracked blocks on these as well but I don't recall ever hearing the reason behind it. There was & still is a pile of these on the road so if your prospective purchase appears to have been well cared for & the price is right I would not hesitate.
