Need help! ASAP please

    So I have a vfr 700f with 36k miles and I'm doing the maitniance on it right now and there is a mess all over where the clutch knob sits and attatches the chain meets right above it and there is this oil kinda of tarish meterrial all over it I need help ASAP as this bike is my only transportation

    I can't tell it's in the chain cassing I can't exactly tell but when I am riding it makes a rasping sound but I can't tell the location

    check you chain slop... if your chain is to loose it will just flop around in there and eat up your case
