Hey Folks ~ Being new to VFRworld.com, first lemme say thanks to those whom started this site. It's always nice to find the "burning bush" on a subject, and speaking of the VFR series bikes. . . . .

Having decided to join the VFR800 ownership ranks, the next step is when? Is the way forward to buy now (MY07, 08,) or wait the season out for the MY09VFR redo. Word around the campfire (a dealer mentioned this) is that Honda is releasing the next version, a new and improved VFR in MY09.

Is there any truth to a MY09 new version VFR ??? ( Retailers often pull stories out of their arse's)

    Cheers, Mike

The general fear is there are to be no more VFRs. The way things are going with Honda these days--I would buy now. There seem to be a few good deals on leftover 07 and 08 that are gathering dust in the stores. If you wait too long, you may get left out.

Good question, a major topic around the camp fire here. as noted Honda is great at keep us second guessing. If you come across a deal thats hard to walk away from I'd buy. 06-07s are still around and can be had at pretty good prices. I'm like a lot on here not holding our breath if an 09 model will be and what will it be, lots of rumors floating around. but still waiting what Honda has up their sleeve.

IMO...I wouldn't hold your breath on a complete makeover for '09. As was mentioned, Honda loves to keep us second guessing. There have been many rumors the past 2 years, yet, nothing more has come forth than a new paint color. Dealers don't know squat, and yes, pull stories out of their arses. You might be waiting a long time, or forever, if you are waiting for a makeover.

Oh, and welcome to the forum Mike!

I'd rather have the last of a proven design, than the first of a new, unproven design. It might take a few years for Honda to work the bugs out of a new, redesigned VFR, if there even is one. Besides, the '07 RWB is a great-looking and great-riding bike, if you can find one.
