Saturday afternoon I loaded up my '86 VFR750 onto my buddies trailer, along with his GSX-R 750, for the trip to downtown Phoenix where our bikes were going to be the center of attention for about 3 hours for a photo shoot with the ladies of the womens roller derby team, The Harmonic Violence Roller Girls. Ok, so maybe the bikes were there more for moral support... and maybe the center of attention was more focused on the 9 women that were takin it off and changing outfits right there on the sidewalk on 2nd Street as the Ringling Bros Circus was going on just 200' away in the U.S. Airways Center! They weren't bashful at all, and believe me when I say that there were a few that could make a Harley blush! The coordinator ran a local custom shop, and made a point to stop by and admire my 2nd Gen up close. One of the guys commented that mine was the cleanest he'd seen in a long time, and the first he'd seen since the mid-90's with full plastics! And when I fired her up to roll over to the photo area, all eyes went to her as the V4 rumbled to life and then lightly growled down the sidewalk and into the parking lot. I must have had the biggest shit-eatin grin on my face, cause a few of the girls that I made eye contact with smiled back and giggled at me. Made me feel like a teenager! LOL It was a great time, and I had a blast! I've never been more proud to own a VFR than that day... and to know that next year, over 10,000 people are going to be staring at MY bike for at least a month... that just awesome!!! When the calendar prints, if you guys want to help the ladies out and purchase a calendar with my little Maxine in it, let me know. I'll post again when it's available.
