This is my newish 2014 standard VFR (Interceptor?). It has its' always attached Cortech tailbag on it. The bike works really well as does the Cortech. It hasn't been forked up yet, is stock, and is the best of my 5th, 6th, and now 8th gen. VFR's for a lot of reasons. For those that have never seen an 8th gen. standard, now you have. It has real tires on it now that I burned up the OEM Dunflop POS tires. This bike will corner at least as well as my other two VFR's with the real tires on it. It is ridden very hard. It likes it. I like to beat on it. Actually, for your enjoyment, I am posting this to learn how to post on this site. :topsy_turvy:

OK, I can't get rid of the accidental thumbnails. Anybody want to buy a shotgun? Thanks RVFR. Back to the drawing board......

Thank you RVFR. Ask me if that was fun. Thought it was cool seeing the license plate light from the shoulder of Deal's Gap.

No Problem. Ok..... Was that fun? ;) Any time one can get out and stretch the VFR out, it's a good time no matter what.

It was absolutely beyond fun early one morning before the loons got on it. There are so many more technical and safer roads in the area, I don't ride The Gap any longer. It's great place to die but also a great place if you hit it early or very late in the day. Thanks again for the help. ;)

Thank you all for not slamming me for my posting errors. As Anne Marie said, never again. I've run it more times than I would guess but it's gotten so crowded, it's a death trap. Too many people don't stay in their lane. If you do run it, do it very early or late in the day when others are not on it. It's a fun road, but you better respect it. Same as Wolf Pen Gap which I prefer. Not crowded and actually much more technical. ; )

If you ever come that far, you have to run Wolf Pen Gap in Georgia. More fun IMO. The Appalachians are so cool and I live on one of the southern most mountains before they fade out. Lots of technical riding over here. That's the only reason to own a VFR, LOL! That and to be cool, LOL!

The 8th gen is so sweet, I have to see a dentist every time I look at on.

Just about any back road in north eastern Oregon likely will met or beat DG. Maybe a little far for those on the east coast. I go every second weekend in September when all the kiddies are back in school and it is the bow hunters you are most likely to run. They are a helpful lot. They helped us get a bike out of a ravine a few years back afterit and its rider hit a deer. They then found the deer in the bush and tagged it. LOL

Don't doubt you, Randy. Mountain riding is the reason I ride. I live on a mountain, so they start, literally at the end of my driveway. It's all good from there.....; )

Understood. I live right at the foot of the Cascades and there are lots of roads right close by. They are great, but do not compare with what Washington and Oregon have. Especially the inland areas.

Don't you guys get that flakey white shit fall from the sky there? I am on my way back from Manitoba right now and just about to release my hired mercenaries from duty protecting me from the mosquitoes. Do you have them too?

Some day I will get out your way to see all that history there. And the Maritimes!

Yea you lucky dog you, just out the drive way huh? ;) But we have some great roads out here too, most are a couple hours away, the issue is which one to ride. to many to chose from. Yea those in NE Oregon aka; Rattle snake grade etc, are something else.

St Helens back in the day.

Yup, I've had to make those, "oh so nice" decisions. Now, if it wasn't so darned hot outside. Have to gripe about something to provide proof of humanity. ; )

Today it is but it does get in the 90's with humidity so high you just drown in your own sweat at a stoplight. I NEVER ride without ATGATT. Also, I've ridden at 99 degrees. The only fun thing about it was the fact I was in a valley after riding N. Ga. and NC twisties in August. Not as bad temps. up in the mountains. ; )

I rode through there in July and I felt I lost half my weight through sweat. Such a scorcher with high humidity. When is the best time to ride down there?
