RVFR just sent me this picture from the ride with Reg & Brian, at first I was thinking sweet pic but then it reminded me of one of my worst habits in not having my feet properly positioned all of the time, I'm well aware of proper foot technique and use it most of the time but every once in awhile my feet get lazy and my boots pay the price, just wondering if anybody else is ever guilty of this or any other bad riding habits...
Nice pic brother! (Watch out for rocks.:wink I dont do that, but I have the goofy habit of having the arches of my boot on the pegs going in a strait line and then approaching the corner, I pull up the inside foot on the ball of the foot. Kinda tap dancing on the pegs. Brake, plan line, setup feet and hang off, add some neutral throttle and minor trail brake, cut the apex and crack 'er open. Over and over (ooh baby) Damn winter - I'm having withdrawl symtems - bleah! MD
no comment, i'm just a stoopid newb......you fast guys know more about this than i do.......that's why i have to go to so many schools and clinics.
Yup. Did that a few times this past summer on a Mt Baker trip with Chomper. Didn't know I did this until the foot dragged a few times. I see an advanced driving course in my near future. Think I will wait for the snow to go though.
shit I kept looking at that pic thinkin it was me... I was thinking man he's callin me out on that. I occasionally stick my toe out like that just for feel but I have the ball on the footpeg so I think it's okay... Now I have to recheck my avatar and see if it's me or you... One of us has to get a new helmet...
You guys just like lookin' at yourselves, RVFR just sent me this, hehe...this pictures been floatin around here for awhile and you guys can't even tell who is who, too damn funny. Just post one up of nicky hayden and photoshop it.
I've never seen that picture till Dec24 or has it ever been on any thread so your assumption is wrong... The way I tell the difference is you use a clear faceshield and have a little white on the chin guard and I use a smoke faceshield...
You are absolutely right, I went back and looked, the picture I confused yours with was Joey Dude's. I do have to give you a 10 for originality. It would have been hard to get around the vanity implications of creating a thread called "look at my cool ass picture".
Stuka you Funny Bastard. I can alway count on you to bring a smile to my face! She's got some big lungs!
No you're not the lone ranger. Last Alpine VFR ride was heading up the mountain range twisties near days end was getting lazy and not shifting my foot to the ball even though knew at the time I should have. Of course the VFR infront had a small rearward facing bullet cam and I ended with a ribbing during the nights group review.
Riding with your feet like that on the road is not that big of deal. I'd rather touch a little toe (keeping me well within road limitations) than not touch a toe and bin it because I was riding like a complete twit. I call it a "safety margin" if you will. Now at the track? That's a whole different issue...tuck them feet up and in.
What about the people who have no feet?Do we critisize them? One snap photo of movement does not define the dynamics of the entire motion.FUN!
