hi everyone i am new to this forum and hope someone can help. the machine is a 99 v reg vfr800
I parked my bike up due to work commitments for about 6 weeks and it would not start after some investigating i found a bed wire in a relay connection to the right of the battery. Managed to start the bike away to go did 400 miles bike never missed a beat but sometimes took 2/3 hits of the start button to fire up.
Okay i parked the bike up for a for further 2 weeks now it wont start again the fuel pump is priming as soon as ignition is on the fi light goes out but the injectors are not spraying .
I have poured fuel into the ports and it fires up straight away.
I have undone the fuel pipes on both side of the motor just below the airbox and i have fuel in the pipes , but the injectors are not letting the fuel spray does anyone have an idea as to what could be the cause.
    Thanks in advance

Maybe I linked the wrong file. Was trying to supply downloadable factory service manual for 5th gen and section 5 is the chapter on fuel system.

Okay I found the problem spoke to my repair shop and as usual they gave me all the help they could , strip this out take that out , check this connection etc etc . After carrying out all usual checks for normal faults even checking the flexi pcb, I was at the point of giving up and taking the bike in for repair . Last minute thought was to disconnect the fuel line , I had previously loosened it and it was building up pressure with what i took to be fuel . What I had forgotten to check for was for other horrible substances and sure enough contrary to popular belief a 1999 vfr800 will not run with water in the system.
How it got in there is beyond me (approx 2 pints) so i drained off a full tank flushed the system out with meths (as this absorbs water to an extent) refilled with fresh fuel and put the baby back together and yahoo it started. Took out for a test run and 1 mile from home yes it broke down , Oh dear took off the seat and luckily it was just a bad connection on the stop rely phew . Glad to say my bike is now back to good health next weekend its full service time .
    Thanks for the input

Check the water drain tube around the fuel inlet on the tank. Mine was clogged and allowed the the cap recess in the tank to fill with water, all of it dumping in the tank when you open it... A quick shot of compressed air takes care of it.
