I hope my bike is ready to be picked up this week from my local Honda shop. I just picked up a nice 02 earlier this year. Two weeks ago, I was riding it in town and came upon an accident. After 15 minutes of sitting in barely-moving traffic, the bike just quit. I was able to push it to a driveway and called my sister to bring a trailer. Upset was too kind a word to describe how I was feeling as I knew the battery was less than 6 months old. After a little research online, I came upon a campaign Honda had for the 2002's that ended Oct 2007 (3 months after I bought mine) for the stator/flywheel. The nice service personnel at Sanford Honda (after much pleading and begging) worked with Honda and agreed to pay for parts if I paid for labor. Paying half is a lot better than paying all I thought. My baby is currently in pieces waiting for parts and the weather is supposed to approach 70 this week. At least my friend that I bought my bike from was kind enough to let me ride her Monster 900 this week. What would you do without true friends? :whoo: She is feeling awful about this happening but I keep reassuring her that I know if she had received the campaign letter, she would've had it fixed ASAP. I hope anyone else with a early 2002 received the letter from Honda in time to have their bikes upgraded.
