can i use any slip on mufflers for this bike? i looked it up by application in a few places but couldnt find anything.........if i can the reassurance would make me feel better... my uncle just put a set off d and d pipes on his new 500 ninja and i like the sound. also i want something louder than stock just for safety, those things are so quiet. thanks!

No, not just any pipes will fit. Since nobody makes them for the early VF's anymore you are stuck trying to make something work. Just take a loot around at different bikes and try to find something that is close. The inlet pipe diameter and angle (roughly) are the most important features, everything else you'll need to fabricate or tweak to make work.

Won't you need to jet the bike after adding slip ons?
