A little advise please. I'm picking up a gen 6 this week and using a cargo van. I know, I know I should ride it but ................... Anyways the van dimensions are

    Inside dimensions: 9'2" x 5'7-1/2" x 4'5" (LxWxH)

    Back door opening: 4'6" x 4'1" (WxH)

I have some ramps but am wondering if the back door opening will be a problem? Has anyone moved one recently. I guess the only other option, other than riding, is a 10 box van.

Comments, not about the riding but about the van size :)

4' height can be an issue, hope someone available and give you some measurements or I will when I am home later today.

Yes I agree but maybe with the windshield and mirrors removed it could squeeze in.

I measured my 6th Gen while upright and it measures exactly 4'1" inches from the floor to the top of the windscreen and I have a Zero Gravity Double Bubble screen which I believe is taller than the OEM screen. It will definitely fit with the screen removed. You should also be able to squeeze a little more room by letting some air of the tires too or bring a hacksaw.

Yes since 2006, that's when my buddy bought his vfr. Since I am kinda his unofficial wrench I joined to learn what I could about this great bike.
At that time I was in a st1100/1300 relationship and knew very little about the VFR.
So last year this same guy bought a st1300 and just recently agreed to sell me his vfr. Over the years I have ridden this bike and did some farkleing and routine maintenance that's why I bought it.
I currently have a 2009 WeeStrom set up for sport touring and over the winter will undress the vfr and get up close and personal. Things like change all fluids, do wheel bearings, tires, inspect the electric gremlins, etc
Come springtime I may keep both or sell one. If my wife is reading this, Ignore the previous sentence I mean sell one of them. She has a rule that says, " one dog, one wife and one bike at a time! ".
There that's probably more than you wanted to know.

Yes it will be tight, but I would remove the windscreen and both mirrors. They are too close to try with them on for the sake of a few minutes to remove them. Make sure you have at least two others there to help you to keep it stabilized while it is pushed up the ramps. A van is typically lower than the box of a truck, but the clearance on the bottom is also close so watch that too.

My son in law is riding down with me and there are two guys at the pickup so we will have four people. Should be fine.

Picked up the bike today in Brooklyn. Piece of cake, I had two 2X8 ramps 8' long. Three of us loaded it and it fit just fine, plenty of room. I put the bags between the two front seats and tied the bike down at each corner pus one over the seat. Lots of bumpy roads, traffic, stop and go but the bike was rock solid. Two of us unloaded, the ramp looked like it was near vertical and 35 feet long but it all worked out. The only bad news was I didn't take any pictures. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Actually the only thing I removed was the hard bags and I turned the mirrors in. The bike has the stock shield on. The only thing I can figure out is the dimensions of the rear opening are wrong in the U Haul web site.
