So we have arrived in NY found the new house and got everything unloaded... roughly 3700 miles and add another 1K for me for driving down to Pittsburgh and back to see/deliver the trailer to a friend.

Not any significant damage to any of the household stuff but the bike broke loose of it's mooring's and the front fender got scratched all to hell and the right side red and blue stripes got mangled .... oh well, It could have been worse right?. Internet is scarce right now. but that will be taken care of next week sometime..
I have ridden a bit around town here nothing crazy but I do get funny looks when folks see the California plates on the bike.... they have the look of "Why the hell did you move here"...

Haven't seen any other VFR's in town mostly harley's, but thats cool they all seem to be pretty polite. My nieghbor across the street has a Ninja 750 probably mid 90's model... he doesn't care about it he just leaves it out in the rain uncovered....

    Till next time ..

    Chow, Crusty

Congrats on the move. Looks like I'll be moving to NY towards the end of the year. My move will be nothing like your 3700 journey. All I have is my car, two motorcycles, a lot of books, and some cloths. I've always have kind of been a nomad. I wonder how twisty the roads are in Queens...

Not just crazy cabbies but crazy everyone! I've been there quite a few times and I'm thinking of just selling my bikes. The plan is to live there for a couple years and then pick another city of my choosing.

Welcome to New Yack. Wait. I'm not there. Whats wrong with being married. I've been married for over 30 years.....not to the same woman though. Wife and I are clebrating 25 years this Saturday, then we jump on the big bird to Scotland next week.

Have fun settling in Crusty. You going to have to fly on down to Reggies next year. I'll buy you a brew.

New York's a big state Crusty. Where you at? We arrange some rides going up into the Catskills on occasion, so maybe its time you met with some of the east coast guys!

Comicus - If you do sell your bikes, you're still going to have to get a 'busa or R1 for Queens. Put as much chrome on it as you can. Some neon lights. A stubby pipe right off the header. At least one, maybe 2 bottles of NOS. Get a leather vest to wear over your T-shirt (Timberland boots, jeans, T-shirt and vest are the usual), then bring it up to about 175 on the Belt Parkway or BQE, and all will be just fine.

Yo - check it out kid.

Potsdam? Really? Sorry Crusty, but you need to sell the bike and buy a snowblower. I'd say no less than 13hp. You're going to spend more time shoveling snow and cleaning it off your vehicles than you will riding. :)

Thank for the tip! No wonder it's so expensive in New York... It cost a lot of money to act like a douche bag. If I can rent a place that has parking I'll keep the VFR and maybe get to meet up with some you guys. I am not looking forward to the COLD!
