Just curious as to what all can be done to my 86 vfr 700. Like the look of hard bags on the newer models ive seen and wonder if i can find some for mine. Ive also read up on the front fork/rear swingarm swaps possible for these bikes but that will all come later. Also are there any places to source used parts for my vfr other than ebay? I want to replace some of the missing hardware and other parts like my foot pegs. Doesnt have to be stock parts if they will fit but would be better.

I am not knowledgeable about places where you can find used and new parts, except e-bay. But I know there are several companies in the U.S. that offer services such as you ask for, however, it may not come cheap. One thing you might look into is to buy another bike similar to yours and use it for spares. It's going to be much cheaper in the long run than buying parts, if you have a place to store it. Hard bags etc can easily be found at fitted in specialty stores. Here are a couple of links for parts:

However, as I said, the prices are high and you will be far better off buying a whole bike for parts, especially if you plan to own your bike for a long time or several years.

The first link has the following text pinned: "In 1986 Honda introduced both the VFR700 and the VFR750. The 700 was the 'tariff beater' introduced in the USA after powerful lobbying from Harley Davidson. They were the same machine,..."
