i finally had the nerve to remove the end caps on the stock muffs, cut back the pipes, re-weld the caps on and yipee! the new sound is a nice improvement over stock, not loud, but kinda "burbble-ish" a little unique i might say! over all pretty pleased, it only cost $5.96 for three 4" cut off wheels! if anyone wants to hear me drag on about the process, just ask!

sorry for the lack of info, i live on an island where dial-up is all we got! plus im 'puter illiterate! i got the idea from the Modification Forum, page 2, titled "Deep Throaty Ex. From Your '02-05 vfr, check it out,you do need stainless mig wire or rod if arcing, the re-welding doesnt need to be pretty because its all hidden behind the polished shields, if you decide to re-install the caps.

Here this should help you boys........

Not much else needs to be said.
    Step 1. Remove mufflers
Step 2. Slice off the end caps
Step 3. Hog out the end pipes inside the end of the cans. Doesn't have to be pretty. cause the exh. doesnt flow thru them any more after doing this. They could be plugged shut for all it matters at this point.
Step 4. Reweld your end caps. If you want to be tricky, grind out the remnants of the tips that are left over inside the end caps. ( already removed in this pic )
