I just added an exhaust on my 95 VFR750, and wow. Sounds great and runs pretty decent. I've added .01" larger shims under the needle and seems to work better. But reading and doing some research I've noticed that I have to turn each adjustment screw out to 2.25 or 2.5..... But thats not the problem. The problem is that the mixture screw is some sort of oddly moon shape, not the conventional phillips or flathead. Does anyone know where to get this tool? (home depot or Osh?) Or can I use any Mcgver tick to turn these screws out. Why did honda even make it like this? You don't even have any room to work in there! Also I don't have the tool kit that came with the bike.
From the sounds of it, you wouldn't find that tool in the kit anyway. As for why they use the weird "screws", it's called Job Security. You might be able to find the tool you need through Snap-On, Matco, or one of the other manufacturers; Honda probably sells it too.
those adjuster thingys are included in K&N/Dynojet kits...... Motion-Pro makes an angled adjuster tool that works OK stock setting for screws (about 2.5) is aready set,but you might want to go richer (counterclockwise) but not more than about 1/2 turn
