I was on my wife's SV 650 in early August and made the jump to warp.... my vision doubled. A truly sobering experience!

My regular MD first misdiagnosed me with vertigo, after anti-vertigo drugs did'nt help. He then guessed a stroke!!!

I can't have an MRI due to metal in my body(no, not lead in my ass), but a CT Scan showed sinusitus. After a change of doctors, my sinusitus was treated and cured.

I'm riding again and getting strong enough to rumble. If there is any doubt as to your condition, please get a second opinion.

It's cool to ride again, and though the least of my problems during this misdiagnosis, not riding truly sucked. To paraphrase Joshua Placa. We don't live the lifestyle....we are the lifestyle!

legs, what's the metal (my wife wants to know cause I was reading your 'lead in my ass' comment to her)... Unfortunately, in medicine, quite often people are misdiagnosed. In your case, the diagnosis of vertigo would be correct except it was actually a symptom and some MDs get caught up treating the symptoms and miss the problem.

    Staples and pins.

I had a horrendous industrial accident in 1979 an have several pins and staples in my upper torso. The doctor involved was afraid that an MRI would pull some of the metal loose. I'm not sure that the lead in my ass would effect the MRI.

When my new doctor told me that he suspected sinusitus, I was pretty suspect, so I googles sinusitus/double vision and got 5,500 hits. Most were misdiagnosises!

Good to hear that you are back on two wheels again Legs!

I think MD's are like auto mechanics, half the time they are taking an educated guess because they don't have the time to really diagnose you fully. Sometimes they hit it first shot and sometimes you need to go back for a second visit or opinion. I usually get the latter.

Good to see you back on two wheels, I was just trying to envision the jump to warp in my head with doubled vision and it seems it truly would be very scary, especially on two wheels.

VFRworld is diffently more interesting when Legs is ready to rumble...

    Thanks gang!

I had said earlier that due to old age and wisdom (Ha!) that I would stop being the local posterboy for bad behavior. Due to the gig selling Harleys, and my double vision, I just got my first chance in 3 months to ride my beloved VFR Rojo yesterday.

Though I pretend to not advocate such, the jump to warp on a VFR (without double vision) is something that we all deserve to experience!

    Amen to Warp

Legs... I appreciate your confession. Though we all are getting older, there is still enough "boy" left in us to "twist it" every so often or we'd have hung the helmet up a long time ago! And isn't VTEC warp a great experience!

    Can I get an "Amen?"

Oh... and if I was going to make a run from Dallas to Birmingham (Barber's Museum) this time of year, what kind of weather and average temps could I expect?

    Thanks,

    Christopher
