Good find. Looks complete and unmolested exc. for front TS. I'd go take a look if I was closer.

VERIFIED: Those are TERRIBLE turn signals... on anything. But especially there, on a VF500F.

Less wind resistance ... you go faster at 12,000 rpm. Other than that TLC is correct ... not bad deal

C'mon... nothing positive about the other 99% of the bike?

Not sure what the placemat is about.

    Screenshot 2024-04-11 115631.jpg

And if you say "tank bag protector" then it is as bad and ineffective as the turn signals.

My guess is somebody very poorly attempted to remove the warning stickers and this was their artistic "fix".

The dude thinks it came that way.

"You would have to ask Honda why they did it. If that would stop u from riding it move on to something else thanks"

Judging from the listing and the response, it's a flip.

You already summed it up perfectly. There's not a lot of super positive things to say beyond that. Cowl is scratched from the seat latches, the left fork slider is gouged from the now missing stock front turn signals, the rear fender is missing or hacked off, the upper cowl has unexplained holes near THE WORLDS WORST SIGNALS on both sides, the tank has a black placemat painted on top that the seller can't explain, except to say "Ask Honda". That's just the shit you can see in some SHITTY pics. And we know the carbs need rebuilding.

So somebody gets the chance to deal with this douche and maybe partial trade with "bang's".

    This was my original inquiry:

    Hello,

Can you please tell me what the black area on the tank is and what it's for? Is that a sticker or is it painted?

    Thank you for your time.

    Initial response:

    Yes it's paint no sticker's
It's painted red white and blue original paint from the factory

Don’t ever ask Capt what is wrong. He will find it all! That would be for the most part an expert, which is rare anymore in the time before intronets.

I def. don't plan to post pics of my bike. The cowl has a crack, fork sliders paint is flaking off, side cowls are scratched from seat latches, the helmet holder is missing, etc.
Oh well, going to ride it anyway.

Dude your bike is a veteran … back in the 70’s I had ratty ass CB550 ss with rusted headers and bent velocity stacks, faded paint etc… it was a little ass kicker though.

Yeah I know, it goes that way. Sometimes you have to just turn off outside opinions and go with your gut, like/ dislike, etc.

If somebody posts up pics of their bike, whether they just got it or have had it a while, I don't shit on them. They have a bike that they like (hopefully) and in the family of bikes we all love. Cool. Look back at any of my posts in that situation and you will see that.

If somebody posts pics of a bike they are looking at to purchase and asks, "I'm looking at buying this, what do you think?", I am also not gong to tear them apart. But they will get an honest opinion regarding the highs and lows of that model and that particular example. That's why they are asking. There are some times that people ask that question when they have already made up their mind and perhaps already purchased a bike without saying so. That's on them if/when they get their panties in a twist.

If somebody posts up an ad about a bike that is just for sale and nobody is considering purchasing... You're gonna get another honest opinion. I don't really care if I'm not sprinkling rainbow glitter on an average bike that nobody has a vested interest in. Posts like this are put up to discuss and comment on. Poorly crafted ads, with shit pictures by douchey flippers will be commented on appropriately.

    Happy Friday.
