Just put my first set of road 5s on my G8 viffer!
Wow, compared to original tyres, feels like a different bike!

I love the Road series. That's all I have used for many years now. Good traction, long life. Resistance to squaring off.

I agree, the Road 5 is a great tire. The added traction in the wet (over the stock tires) is reassuring.

I also have the 5's, wanted a 4 because they are cheaper, but it seems like the 5 is better in the rain.
Got a lot of km's out of my Pilot Road 2's (18k km) and they are still good to do another 18. Too bad I sold the bike :)

I've been a Michelin tire user for quite sometime and the 6 Gen has a set of Road 5's on it now with another set going on after these are done. I use to run a Pilot Power 3 front with a Pilot Road 4 rear on the 6 Gen and that was a great combo, decided to try a pure Road front and rear and see how that works and so far it's been a good experience. Got track time, rain time and loads of commuting miles and they've been showing very little wear!

The first 'new' rubber I put on after the original D222s was PR4s and once they were half-worn I hated them, no feel, not confidence-inspiring in the wet at all. I was surprised because the PR3s on my 6th gen were brilliant. Put me off Michelins so I haven't tried the 5s. Bridgestone T30Evos were much better.
