So there I was (they never end good when they start like this!) heading over to my buddies house for a great monday ride on the Ole' VFR. As usual I drive up in between the two cars on the driveway, when all the sudden i get pushed to the left. Uh-oh.....:brick: it seems the cars were parked to close together and my right bag slide 3 feet down the side of his beater. The car got a little scuffed but my bag now has a nice little scuff that won't go away. the car just needs some wax to be fixed. It was all good though because he didn't care about that car. well since everything was good we prepared to get under way. I eventually pulled the bike out of the garage and parked it on the side walk. After everyone was geared up in proper AGATT attire, it was time to load all the passengers, including mine, which happened to be my buddies daughter. When she was getting ready to climb on she stepped up on the left rear peg- and stood straight up in the air, instead of leaning over the bike to maintain balance. when she did this, the suspension compressed, and the bike leaned to the left. when she realized that I was off balance and couldn't hold her up like that, she stepped off the peg and the bike sprung back up, pushing to the even more to the left. at this point it was too late, and the bike shot over on the left side and went down. Thank fully there was a little patch of grass that took the brunt of the front fairing's touch down, but the left bag was scratched pretty good. after We stood the bike back up I found that the saddle bag was the only real damage from that mishap. Later on the way back home through the twisties, I had a Bee sting me in my face. with my buddies daughter on the back. Monday wasn't a great day. In retrospect, it was a good ride because everyone came home in one piece. Now my Baby has blemishes, but I just call them Character marks.......
commiserations. they say things happen in three's so looks like you completed your tri -fecta! ive had 3 beestings whilst riding.have to say they are generally quite unpleasant. one involved riding thru a bee swarm which had congregated in the middle of a road! we had to stop and pull the sting out using the pliers from the bike tool kit ( you know those cheesy 2 part ones made from shit metal). at least they did the job. good luck for the future.
Damn dude, that just was not your day! I am glad that nothing really serious (as in injury) happened during your ride. Keep the rubberside down brother! :racer:
I'm a little behind in sharing all of my motorcycle adventures, so there is good news to report- when I get the time to sit down and write it out. Thanks for the support guys.
