That's some interesting reviews. I sat on the new VFR1200F at the Cycle World IMS this past weekend in Chicago. It's a nice bike, fit and finish are great, but $16K for a bike in the current economy that has no real good market, I don't see Honda selling a ton of them. It's not a full sportbike and not a full tourer either. I'll keep my '07 RWB!

Out the door, sure. The long term cost of ownership between the Duc and the VFR is a whole differant gig.

you are correct in the cost of ownership, services are about 3x the cost of a honda. then again you can go to bed with either Bo Derek or Bo Diddley... your call

I appreciate the humor, I really do. However, your assesment is completely unfair, and you know it. Of all the Ducatis ever produced, your 999 is the least like Bo Derek.

Apologies for the thread jack Mathew. Thanks for posting the vid. I'm doing my best to reserve judgment on the 7gen untill I can actually get some seat time. It's not looking like it'll be a bike that I would buy, but it's nice to hear what fellow riders have to say about it.

I agree, that's why I didn't go there. Actually with a few cosmetic changes and a bigger gas tank I think the 1200 will be a great sport TOURER and in a few years, if I tire of my '08, then I would be happy to have one as long as I have a sportbike next to it. Unfortunately it isn't the bike (superbike) that maybe a lot of us, including me, would've liked.

P.S. I'm playin' around with your triple 9.
