Ok, I was checking the thread on wheel conversions, but want to get opinions first; as of right now, I still don't have her but probably by next week I will have an 86 VFR 750 as a project bike. How good is the 17" wheel swap? If I decide to keep the stock rims, what is the biggest size I can go with in the rear?

If you keep the stock rims, I would suggest keeping stock size front as a wider slow down the steering. Rear I have tried stock and 140/70. Some have also used 150/70 and that is widest I would go.
17 wheel swamp you need to rise the rear as a 17 wheel is smaller than a 18 wheel.
Also need skills to do it.

I would stick with the stock tire size, I have avon roadriders and they grip excellent. That said, I'm currently in the middle of an f2 wheel conversion. I'll post up the results when I'm done. Either way if you get her it will be a great bike. I ride mine everywhere. Good luck
