I read the thread about this in the VFR mailing list so I had to check this out. I think I'm going to buy this. I just ordered tires, and with the money I saved by ordering online instead of buying from the dealer, I think I can justify this purchase. By the time I do 6 tires (which will probably be less than a year) I'll have saved enough. Plus, I love having neat tools. I'd be as bad as Tim the toolman if I didn't keep it under control. Insert deep male grunting sound here.

I made my own balancer. I'm not bragging, it was just out of necessity. I am working on perfecting a more permanent balancing stand, But I have a top notch holder for the rear wheel. I mount it on an acme threaded shaft with specific to the wheel adaptors made out of aluminum. I have 2 nice fitting sleeves that go over the acme threaded shaft and it balances spinning between 2 roller bearings on each side. Cheaper than buying, but it did take some time to make.
I recommend everybody learn to mount and balance their own tires. Especially if you ride hard and go through them fast.
