As most of you are aware, VFRworld has had a few technical issues over the past few months, including the inability to view member profile pages. These issues were the result of a hardware failure at our web host, which caused them to have to restore from backups. Although I was able to get most of the kinks worked out, the lingering profile problems have been driving me crazy, and despite my best efforts, I have not yet been able to resolve them.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I am planning to apply some upgrades to the software on VFRworld. This may or may not fix the problem, but it's the next step in the troubleshooting process. I just wanted everyone to be aware that VFRworld may be down for a bit tomorrow during the maintenance. Cross your fingers that all goes well and that the upgrade doesn't cause something else to break! :smash:

Good news, the upgrade was successful, and it fixed the issues we have been experiencing with Member Pages, etc.

However, if you are using the VFRworld Dark theme, there is a compatibility issue with the new version, and I won't be able to fix it immediately. You'll notice a few things:

    1. There is a menu at the top - New Posts Private Messages Etc. You'll notice that this menu is not aligned correctly, it's too low. Hopefully a minor inconvenient until we can get it resolved.
    2. There is also an issue with using the ChatBox with VFRworld Dark. You may not be able to post messages, possibly depending on your browser. If you are a user that posts in the ChatBox, then my recommendation would be to switch to VFRworld Light temporarily. You can make this change in the bottom left corner of any page.
    3. When using VFRworld Dark, you will also notice some areas where the colors are wrong. For example, White font on a White background. Again, this will be resolved once we receive a new version of VFRworld Dark.

I will keep you posted on resolving the issues with VFRworld Dark. In the meantime, if you discover any additional problems that do NOT have to do with the VFRworld Dark Style, please post in this thread.

As always, thanks for your patience and your support.
    Michael

both light and dark seem to work on ie9 in chat and forums... I do see a few of the other things you mentioned like white on white text and stuff, though. Still looks pretty good.

You can see your text in your responses in dark mode if you click on the box in the upper left, and switch to WYSIWYG mode...

I just noticed that I lost the the 'Location' info under my Avatar. Is this a side effect of the the update performed? When I go to edit my profile, that field is not even available. Just 'Country' is an option.

EDIT: The Location field is there, maybe I missed it. Good to go now.

Having some difficulty attaching photos via a URL or on Photobucket. Receiving an error message of 'invalid file type'. Can load photos via upload from computer though these show as small clickable thumbnails. The 'old' method using Photobucket was a nice option as images (scaled to 800px wide) fit nicely on the page.

The unsubscribe link in emails has issues. If i get an email from a subscribed thread that I'm now tired of and click the link to unsubscribe from that thread only, I get an invalid redirect. The forum successfully unsubscribes, but the followup redirect back to email fails.

99% of the time I access this site through my desktop. What if I want to access it using my phone though? Do I change the layout here on my desktop to "always" be on Mobile? Or do I actually go in through my phone and choose the mobile setting for that?

Seeing as how I never used the mobile, I'm wondering if I can learn to harness the full power of VFRWorld!
