I just bought a 02 and I just had a few simple questions.

How do I check my oil and coolant levels? (photos would be great)

Also, what needs to be done for winterizing? It will be kept in heated storage all winter.

We'd need to know your location to know your winter; be specific. You didn't mention what you have for humidititty and temerature setting. Those could ruin any bike in storage if either one reached excess levels. Winter in some places is less than two cases of beer long.............. :behindsofa:

A topic usually covered on every online bikeforum.com with ALL the REGULAR recommendations.

Most original Owner's Manuals listed propa storage procedures.

Check coolant under radiator cap when engine is cold, refill to top if needed, noting how much you needed to add.

Oil checked 1/2 way in window while bike is vertical or on centerstand.

On any just-got used bike you do need to do alot of basic preventive maintenance like flushing and replacing ALL fluids, as well as inspecting wheel and steering bearings.

Cover the bike with a cotton bedsheet, Indian silk sari, or Harris tweed, but cover it. And stuff a rag oop er arse.

If you went near my beloved Harris Tweed jacket, I would have to punch yah in your bread basket, now a donegal tweed on the other hand, would be ok

Not going near the rag thing, maybe thats the donegal your refering to as a rag :pound:

Based on his handle/screen name, I'm only guessing he is in San Luis Obispo CA. If that's the case, winter is nothing I'd be concerned about. The town is at sea level, no snow and good precipitation.
But I've been known to be wrong before.

That original post was from 10/2. No one responded until yesterday. Our official VFRW greeters are slacking.

The dude probably jumped ship after not getting an answer to his questions for a month.
