i have weird sound in engine when i snap throttle and release. Wondering if theres any maintenance due at 40 000km? Any valve ajustements or chain maintenance? Never noticed this sound before, its there even when clutch disengaged.

They normally last 35'000miles bot you are in the window.. fairly easy to do & will only cost $200 to get the genuine Honda parts.

Is it dangerous to still running the bike until the repair? Seems early wear....

    Depends.....

You fix it SOONER, then it's unlikely to be a issue, if you wait until 70,000 miles - well lets just say you are unlikely to make it...

Check out the utube videos of it. Rear one is the easiest job on the planet and prob takes 15m. The front you take off the side panels, lift and support tank, remove air box only and a few connections the unbolt the cct. You do not need to remove the throttle bodies.
