Hello guys, I just got done with a couple of things.

    1) Changed oil to Mobile 1 Full Synthetic MXT1 Motorcycle oil and
crossed ref. the Mobil 1 oil filter m1-110 the guys on VFR
discussion said to use to a Bosch filter I believe 3323. I hope that
works, now I hear a Little ticking noise (maybe I am just crazy for
putting something else besides Honda HP Dino??)
    2) I mounted my new Avons 45/46 on the bike now remind you this it
is only the second time I did this.

    3) I had my neighbor help me lower my bike. Here is a quick version.
I switch the triangle plates that hold the dog bone clockwise 120
degrees. I took measurement it was 14in before from bottom of lug
nut to bottom of helmet lock. When I was done it measured 13.25 in.

So I went to the front now here is where it gets tricky. The manual
said it should measure 1.5 in. mine was 1.75in. So I said ok lets
just lower the front .75in to match the rear end. I wanted the bike
to handle a little quicker so I lowered it more. The total is now
2.66 in. Took the bike for a quick ride and boy it felt weird. I am
hopeing I will get use to it. I guess I am just paranoid it has been
a LONG time since I had fresh tires on. It is good to touch the
    ground I have to say.

I was testing out the front clearance and seating the brakes and
axle. I noticed that the front end was soft and there was a little
clicking noise I thought it was the brake pads moving back and
forth. I really don't know. It doesn't really sound bad just a
little off maybe I was pushing down too hard while holding the front
brake??? Also can you just remove the top caps of the fork to add
fork oil or do you have to take the whole thing apart?? Sorry so
    long thanks for any input.

My math might be messed up, but if your front was at 1.75 and it should be at 1.5 and yuo lowered it .75, you went .5 too far. Your front would now be at 1.0, not 1.5. That might lead to it feeling wierd.

As for yor tick after the oil change, did it go away after the test ride? I don't think a brand change as well as giong to synth oil would cause this. But it might have taken a little longer for the lifters to pump up. I haven't changed to synth, so without hearing it or knowing if it goes away after the test ride it's kind of difficult for me to say. You might also double check the oil level, just as an extra measure.

Lifters? your VFR has lifters? Wow! didn't know that, JK VFR's don't have lifters unless they did something in the 6th gen ones with the Vtec, even then I'm pretty sure theres no lifters, but really could be just something you didn't notice before. Mine has a little tick tick ever now and then nothing in my mind is worried about it. just means its all losen up and ready to run. But then, when was the last valve adjustment done?

yeah, i guess you are right with it having OHC's. I was thinking about the buckets the shims sit under as being lifters. :p

    thanks

Thanks guys, I have not done a valve check since the bike only had 11,000 miles on it. What about the front forks feeling too soft can I just open up the top screw of the fork and check the fork oil level or do I have to pull the whole thing apart. Thanks again
