Yes the gear shifter and rear brake pedal MUST be adjusted when you install the peg lowering blocks. No worries though it's super easy to do.

Yep as a matter of fact I did.

I had a set of Larry's peg lowering blocks installed on my '03,and to be honest they worked great for long touring rides. An inch and a half really doesn't sound like much Highway Star but trust me it's welcome useful leg room.
The problem was I was also running a set of lowering triangles from Thurn Motorsport at the back of the bike and I raised my forks 10mm in the triple trees to lower the center of gravity on the bike and shorten the wheelbase just a bit in an effort to make the bike steer a bit quicker.
With the bike set up this way and the peg lowering blocks installed it made it ridiculously easy to scrape my boots and grind my foot pegs during any kind of aggressive cornering.
A bike with the stock set up on the other hand should have no problems at all using Larry's peg lowering blocks though.

Here's a pic of my old stock rearsets with Larry's peg lowering blocks still installed. I removed these stockers and bolted up a set of Sato Racing rearsets.

I made a small modification to the mounting hardware. The mounting bolts that Larry included were threaded the entire length of the bolt.
I went to the local hardware store and got all Stainless Steel hardware. The allen head bolts that I used had long unthreaded shanks and I simply cut them to size.
This way the mounting bolts are all shank and minimal threads so that the billet aluminum peg lowering blocks would now ride on the smooth shank of the bolt and not on the sharp threads.
I mentioned this little mod to Larry and he gave me the thumbs up. Here's a pic.

Listen Highway Star,if you're still in the market for a pair of Larry's peg lowering blocks I'm no longer using mine.
I'll let them go for $20.00 for the pair, you pay shipping. PM me if you're interested.
