Does anyone on here know how different (quieter/deeper) 17" cans of the same design would be vs. 10" cans? (same diameter, packing, etc.).

I'm getting the last of my design for the exhaust together, and mulling over different lengths, and most likely I"m going to go with the longest I can get (17" or so), and angle those up & in like a lot of the mid-late 90s and early 00's bikes did.

After some poking, I've realized that my supertrapps only have about 9-10" of core in them, and then it switches over to the exit baffles. Which would explain a lot of my dissatisfaction with the loudness. Right now, I'm looking for some numbers, as I've only been getting vague statements from mfrs (which is rather annoying).

Longer is better, the sound can still be good, but the volume will be a bit less. No sense annoying everyone. And louder won't make it go any faster. :)
