I recently purchased a 2003 vfr. I don't believe in bikes with stock exhaust systems. Basically if I'm gonna spend the money I want something that is loud. The louder the better. I'm thinking staintune but have heard sveral folks state that they 'aren't obtrusive' I've heard the sound bytes on the net but those surely don't do it justice. So i guess my question is Which pipes are the loudest?

Not a fan of loud pipes after running them a few years, but if noise is what your after, I've read the staintunes will make your V4 sound like a "small block V8".

I'm sure there are lots out there with them that will comment on this.

I purchased a set of Carbon Microns for my 2004 Viffer.
    No comparison to Staintunes.
100% better finish and awesome growl.
The staintunes sound tinny compared to the Microns.

Yea I installed the Staintunes yesterday Not at all impressede with the sound. It is deeper than stock but at speeds and higher RPM's the engine seems to still be louder thyan the exhaust :'(

Staintunes give you a small growl, somewhat analogous to a V8 engine, but will definitely not give you "loud pipes". You're better off getting a Micron for pure loudness.

After hearing a VTec VFR today with Staintunes and thinking they sounded wonderful, just like a little V8,  I am looking at putting them on my '04 VFR, apparently you don't have to re-map etc, and volume still adhears to the Government noise standards with the Spud in.

Have you left the Spud in or taken it out ?

I think if you want any good sound at all, then you better leave the spud out. I ride with them out and it sounds great. With them in, I think you might be a little disappointed if you're looking for a good sound.

Ahh, dilema then, Spuds in low noise but legal, spuds out good sound but risking the Plods attention...hmmm

I am running a Staintune high mount on my '90 with the spud in; with it out it puts me too close to th4e Harley crowd. Their bikes are truly all-American-noisy, gaudy, and overweight!

I have recently installed a Carbon canned Scorpion System on my 02. They sound great - deep and not 'tinny'. They ftted beautifully and quality is excellent. I would recommend them. I don't know how to insert a pic - else I would have included one

I'm trying to figure out which exhaust too. In the meantime, if someone could send me the debaffling procedure....it would make my day. 8)
