Ok here goes. This should not be too big a deal. The gas tank on my 06 is a little loose. Doesnt really effect the ride or anything and I checked all the bolts which are tight. It must be loose underneath or has a grommet or something missing? My question is is it a big deal to remove the tank ? Do I have to disconnect the fuel line to check it out completely? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

On the 5th gen you can undo the front bolts and lift up the tank, the rear bolts are on a hinge. there are 4 hoses and 2 wires. They all have enough slack to lift it up. There are 2 rubber grommets and 2 washers on the front, the rear just has the 2 bolts and the hinge.

If you haven't had your tank off then you should probably use this time to check a few thing such as your air filter. Just part of regular maintenance.
