    Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of buying a 2nd VFR prefer 750 but will consider 800 as well. Which are the better model in the 750 and 800? Any advice and what issue should I know? Thanks in advance ;)

If you aren't afraid of carbs, go with the 750, a much simpler machine, much easier to work on, and you have THE #1 most essential element in VFR history, gear-driven cams !!!!

Personal preference is what it comes down to.

I think pretty much all VFRs had R/R issues - search and you shall see. But aside from those, kind of hard to find a flaw with either model. The 1998 to 2001 was also gear driven cams.

Not sure what your riding consists of as far as elevation changes, but perhaps the FI on the 800 would be better suited?

Just thinking of buying a second hand use for touring purposes....3 weeks of touring around Australia which I am planning. The bike I'm looking at right now is a 1988 model with only 41000kms on the clock. Tomorrow morning will go and have a look at it.
