I had a lovely 93 back in the day and sold it for less than you can buy the same bike now. Looking at coming back into the VFR fold now that I've got a wife that doesn't resent the fact that I like to spend time on two wheels now and then. Currently riding a 2001 Africa Twin that I brought back from Europe after doing about 14K kms over there. I fell in love with the whole touring scene and that has me thinking of getting another VFR. The @ is nice, but I love sportbikes. I think the VFR can do it all and I get to have all the fun I would on a supersport, but pay less than half the insurance. Was hoping to get a nice 2001 as that will be a nice mate to my @ and that was the last year of the true VFRs IMOP, but I threw a leg over a 2003 and now I don't know. The whole VTEC thing really didn't bother me and I have to say I like the looks a bit better than the 5th gen bikes. Wish there was a crossover year that had new looks and old motor. That would be the bike for me. At anyrate, I just wanted to say hello and hope to soon be on my way to putting around 100K miles on my next VFR!

    Welcome to the forum!

I agree, a gen5.5 would have been ideal.

Someone wants to spend the money, I'd be all over it. Tried to talk TC into it.

We can call it a 5.75gen?

I wonder how much a conversion like that would cost. Is it possible to just do a heart transplant like that? It looks like you have a 6th gen with 5th gen forward fairings is that right?
I'm really excited to see what Hondasan does with this recent rumor of a MotoGP derived v4 liter bike. I rode some of the early 400s and 750s in Japan way back when. My dream bike would be an RC45 sitting next to the @. I wouldn't ride that much. Just look at it. An RC30 was recently on Ebay. Nice looking bike.

Link in my signature provides details. 5th gen with 6th tail and tank.

6gen frame appears a touch wider than 5th judging from the difference in fuel tanks so it may be possible. I have not seen it discussed before. Seems like a lot of work for not a lot of difference. It's not just bolting the engine but the wire harness, ECU, and gauge differences. All doable but a lot of work for gear cams.

I like what you did with yours. The tail is really the only thing I don't like about the 5th gens.

I was asked to put a pic up of my @ so here it is on top of Passo Stelvio and almost exactly one year ago when I took the high road from Liechtenstein into northern Italy.
