i used to do installs (back in college) and remember old honda's, toyota's and mazda's being the easiest to install. literally 5-10 minutes; at my peak. at your local car stereo shop (or even best buy/circuit city) buy a "wiring adapter kit". it's basically a plug that allows you to install the after market radio without having to cut any wires behind your factory radio. don't let them try to sell you a "mounting kit" those old honda's, toy's etc don't require them. just simply remove the factory radio (there's 2 screws probably 5/16" on either side of the radio hiding under some plastic. don't be afraid to give the plastic a good pull as it's just snapped on there), and the "mounting sleeve" of the after market radio fits right in there. the wiring kit should be color coded to match your after market radio so just connect the red to the red, yellow to the yellow etc...(unless of course you buy a pioneer radio. then PM me for the wiring codes) but all sony's, alpine, jvc's etc use the same wiring colors. once you connect the wiring kit wires to the after market radio's wires, connect both plugs then slide that sucker into your now mounted sleeve and you're all set. wifey will love you long time.

thanks for the info Dude. I talked with my nieghbor last night & he just put one in his old civic & he said the instalation was boring easy. (the way I like it, LOL).

Im not looking for anything fancy, just something to make noise. Ideally I would like a CD/Cassette combo. my wife gets a lot of books on tape for our boys & they are mostly on cassette. Im not looking for amps or crossovers or any of that stuff. just a box & 4 speakers (2 for the door & 2 for the back deck).

    thanks
    Bob
