Looking for a later model VFR, any help would be appreciated. I would like to put handle bar risers on it for a more upright riding position and any other modification recommended
    Thanks; Joe

Before reaching for your wallet, its worth spending some time reading up on the 6th Gen models. Check our the relevant themes on the forum and the Wiki. There are some know issues with the earlier 6th gen models which seem to have been fixed by the time they got to 2006 models in Europe (Sorry I'm not sure if USA models changed at the same time but doubtless someone else on here will confirm when the change happened on your side of the pond).

If you want a more upright riding position then you have a choice of fitting genmar risers or helibars. Genmars raise the height of the stock clip ons. The helibars are more expensive, and I'm glad I went with them as I'm not very tall. The Helibars replace the stock clip ons, the new bars are higher and angled back towards you, so you don't have to reach/lean foreward as much. In practice they give about as much adjustment as is possible without changing any cables etc.

The difference the Helibars make is amazing. No back-ache after 8 hours in the saddle on the Autobahnns. They significantly reduce the amount of weight carried on the bars, making it much easier to place the bike where you want it to go, especially when you need to flick from lock to lock on twisty descents.

Good luck with your search and if you find something don't forget to post up some pictures.
