I don't think it will work with a 500. Plus your bike is so nice that it's really a treasure that shouldn't be messed with. If you want to modify something find one that has been laid down or one that isn't as rare. They only made the 500 for 3 years and you don't find one everyday in the condition yours is in. If you lived closer I would trade you mine and keep yours stock. Just as well anyway I have a hard time leaving things stock anyway. And I love how mine looks in black.

haha what makes my bike so rare. i know they only made them for 3 years but are they that hard to find in good condition? ok i will keep her stock lol except for the signals. i got flush mounts for the front and the plate holder comes with built in l.e.d. lighting signals for the rear. also i am bidding on a solo rear seat cover i found. i think that would look pretty nice and clean.

The 500 are the rarest of the bunch. And believe it or not yours out of the stock bikes is probably one of the top 3 or 4 on the site, as far as I've seen if I'm wrong someone tell me.

Hell would have to ice over before I would pay $4,500 for a 20yr old VFR with a salvage title that is now a Suzacatihon with all the mixed parts..LOL

When I bought my 99 year and a half ago , I only paid $3,900 and it had 10,000 miles on it " with a clean title"...

Actually the most rare Honda V4 would be between the VF1000F and the VFR1000..

Hey reg71, I find it really hard to do this but like I said I have four others and I just can't keep things stock,
Hey nailer45, I guess your not the one for this bike but others truly enjoy them and the way they handle, alot of thought went into this setup it was not just thrown together so make your simple minded jokes it just shows your mentality !!!

You meant VF1000R, right? There is no such thing as a VFR1000. You are correct, the 500's far out number the other models. The 500's sold in amazing numbers, it's just that so many of them dropped valves that the survivors are about the same in number as the other sizes.

The GSXR front end WILL fit the 500 with a little work. It's the only model in the VF family that has a chance with a fork swap. The larger bikes cannot accept newer forks because anything better is way too short. The 500's don't need such a long fork, so the swap can be done. Be very careful when setting it up that you check all clearances carefully. Not all forks will work, so don't be surprised if you have to buy a couple of sets before you find a good set. I've got a wall full of forks to prove this.

WHOA, I like to see a nice VFR ..The salvage title makes the blue book on it about $2,000 on the strong side.. The mixed parts from different bikes would turn most people away... I am not being sarcastic. For a track bike i bet it would be great....
I have owned mainly Honda interceptors since i started riding on the street and I had a beautiful 86 VFR750 until some broad hit me at 30mph when i was sitting at a stop sign...My first 1983 VF750F had 52,000 miles on it when the motor let go and i bought it with 2,300 miles on it in august of 83..Other VF/VFR followed..

I am a BIG fan of the VFR and always will be..
