Maybe some of you can put some insight into a new issue that has arisen with my 87 700F2 . I have done no changes to the bike just to make it clear but seems like there is a major problem with the fuel intake. The other week i took the bike for a hour ride on my way back i stopped off at the office to pick up my check. was in there for about 20 minutes came back out to start the bike up. All it did was crank tried to choke it till i killed the battery and ended up pop starting it to get it home to take a look at it didn't think much of it. After looking into the issue seems as tho the neutral connection was loose for the bike. tightened it back up and the bike started immediately no problems at all.

today on my ride with a friend of mine after stopping for breakfast for about a half hour. went to start up the bike and roll out of the parking lot. turned over and started without a glitch went up on a small incline to get out of the parking lot and the bike grumbled and died. backed it down to check it out.. tried to start it back up and fired immediately left lot from a different spot and the rest of the day there wasn't a problem at all even stopped for a quick break for a soda and rest. went back out and it started right up..

Now it sounds to me as some sort of fuel problem apparently but my question is could it be the fuel line or the petcock.. what do you all think before i start ripping the bike apart to find it.

    thanks,
    anthony

    Wiring

My first guess is wiring. If fuel relay or pump it would still run until bowls went dry, your first failure as described. You need to check the wiring around the key switch and under the dash panels.I am not there but as desribed it would be my first stab at it.
