I need to know how far optimistic the stock speedo is, and approx. how optimistic my speedo is now that I'm -1T on the front sprocket.

I'm gonna take a stab and say 10% too fast about?

if anyone can chine in I'll correct my first stab at this thing, and I won't have to resort to tracking down an active speed limit sign that displays your speed. LOL

If you have any of those radar signs that post your speed should give you an accurate reading. My speedo always reads 3 mph faster than actual speed. GPS function on phone works great too, lots of apps will give you accurate reading.

That's probably pretty close, mine is about 12% with +2 teeth in the back and odometer is off 5%.

I called speedo and my 45 rear sprocket is off-4.4%, from stock, but if stock is off how do you make it perfect? Without a gps or stupid phone=apple device ect. That's is the question snapper.

that's a negative number on how you setup the speedo--4.4 with a 45 sprocket not a positive number. at least how you program the unit, the speedometer is going to read higher speed than actual. I might set it up like maybe negative 4.6 because the stock setting is also faster than real speed, but on other hand I would just start at -4.5 and try and find a radar unit-perhaps you might ask a cop to help you-they have the best speedo there is-tell him don't give me a ticket-might be risky however-he or she might just give you a ticket.

I think I set my speedo healer to -8.5%. That is both mathmaticly and Garmin verified. I'm running stock gearing but with a 190 50 17 rear tire. I think the bike was -5.5% off and the tire was another -3%. But all bikes are a bit different. Also might try to ride next to a car at night with a digital speedo.

I would trust one of those stupid radar signs above anything else-hell what a pain in the ass-the cops stopped using them to slow people down without giving tickets-I guess the idea is to give tickets not to slow people down. Maybe someone could figure out what speed the stock set up is really reading? Oh so your saying the stock setup is reading +5.5 , so on a 45 sprocket-that's-4.4=-9.9. Backward thinking but I need to set healer at -9.9. Shit its really off a lot. An I did notice the speedo is reading a lot faster than I am going.

There's a genuine goddamn reason why I've been here twice as long as you and you have 10X as many posts.

You have shitall to say about anything useful, and I generally only open my mouth around here when I DO have something useful to say.
There is SO MUCH MORE to learn around here, when you spend more time digging up archives, researching troubleshoots, problems, mods, ideas, what is common bike to bike, generation to generation, rather than how many dumbass emoticons you can string together, and pretend it means something to anyone but you, you deluded little fool.

It means, stay out of my threads. read. fucking learn something.
