Hey guys I just got my radiator back from the shop, now I need to refill the beast.
Does anyone have a preference on antifreeze/coolant?
I am also going to do an oil/filter change, any recommendations on your preferred oil?
By the way I ride an 86 vf500f.

For oil I use Rotella in all my bikes. The 5W40 synthetic should do you well, is motorcycle approved and is cheap, or at least cheaper than 'motorcycle' specific oils.

What I put in is Mobile 1 racing 4T motorcycle oil. It costs more than rotella, but I want to get the best protection against wear. after all, how often do you actually need an oil change? I'd rather pa a little more and be sure. As far as a filter, use anything that is made for the bike, as long as it isn't a fram.

I run Rotela in everything I own, it's wet clutch safe and heavy duty enough for diesel. It's never let me down and never gunked up any of my engines.

    Motorcycle Oil and Filters

Theres even a cross reference link that shows tons of different filters that would work for you.

I just got my bike some months ago and ran into these same questions...I decided to use rotella-t 15w-40 and mobil 1 m1-110 filter...although my last filter was purolator pure one PL14610.
