Hi Phil. You luckeeeeeee bastard! Looks like Magnetic Island in the background, trying out the new tires are you? Send some of that weather down south please. All the best mate. Cheers.
Hi Grum, very close mate, actually Hinchinbrook Island just off Cardwell. Yes definitely enjoyed the new tyres, amazing how easy it is to hold a line on good tyres. Managed 450km today, my reserve light was flashing for the last 30km, took 20litres to fill it. I’m pretty happy with that. While I was having a coffee in Cardwell a guy approached me and asked if I wanted to sell my VFR. He was serious about it too. Gave me his number and said if I changed my mind to call him. Heading to Brisbane in a few weeks, not sure which bike I will take yet, probably the Triumph, I don’t want to flat spot my new tyres on the Honda riding 3000km of virtually straight road. Hope all is well at your end Grum, you will have to do a winter trip north one of these days? Stay safe Phil. Here’s another photo from this morning.
Nice photos Phil, bet you're at Vivia Cafe. Only ridden as far north to Hervey Bay a few years back. Unless he offers you a million bucks don't go selling the VFR. Agree with you, grab the Triumph for straight roads to Brisbane. Cairns and Townsville sure are tempting this time of year. Had some major cancer surgery back in Feb, has kept me off the VFR for a while but feeling great now and doing a few short rides, longer ones are in the near future. Cheers.
So sorry to hear that Grum but glad you are back on the road to feeling great again. Hope you get some good rides in soon. And yes I was at Vivia Cafe, it’s a great spot. Recently changed ownership but the new owners are very good too. Cheers Phil.
Phil, Mello and Tom. Thanks guys appreciate your thoughts. The last 12 months have been a real battle, multiple hospital visits, specialists are all very happy with my progress, hopefully the worst is all behind me and I'm feeling really good. And as per this thread - "Life's Great"........Again. Cheers.
