I bought a 97 vfr less than two weeks ago, and was traveling cross country (cali to illinois).
Midday at a gas station TODAY, I go in to take a break and a piss... come back and it's gone :(

So, I finally get home tomorrow, where can I get a left mid fairing (that's the piece that's over the engine, right?). It's a red 97 vfr750F... will this fit it? (I don't think mine is an interceptor... and it doesn't look the same) ebay

Kinda worried that I won't be able to find parts... my last bike was a suzuki gr650

yeh gas stations have cameras but its a low priority the theft of a body panel. If it was a body part that was stolen, well HELL that would be a different story.

If they had caning like Singapore, nothing like this shit would happen. Sorry about your loss mate.

That piece you have a link to is from a 98-01. It will not fit your bike.
Your bike is considered a "4th Generation or 4th Gen"
Only the fairing that looks like this will fit.

They are getting pretty rare. Try Ron Ayers.com, I am not sure if Service Honda.com will have it or not.

That's the down side of owning an older bike.
