I have an 86 vfr and the only problem with the blinkers is that the left blinker light stays on. The right blinks then I can cancel it and goes off. The left will blink but when I cancel it the bulb stays on (not blinking. They both work fine blinking, just have the left that stays on. I have not taken the switch apart but tried the wd40 spray into the housing by the side of the blinker switch. Will things just fly out when you remove the assembly or does that happen as you take the innards apart???

Does it stay on at full brightness or part brightness. On my 99 the front turn signals also function as marker lights and are constantly illuminated at about 50% brightness, might be something wrong with the other side.

If it is staying on dimly, check the ground connections.

 never thought of that but will check it out this morning when I get to my other office. I thank you for the information.

Update, the problem is solved, turned out to be some loose wires by the blinker where they go into the harness. Guess sometimes you have to look past the trees to see the forest, so thanks .
