Has anyone retro-fitted LED indicators to their VF? What do the look like and where did you get them from? Thanks
I have. You can get some that are the exact same shape as the VF turn signal stay. You can find them in light and dark smoke too, but they are not very visible from the direct front or rear (even in clear). There a few versions on eBay that look the same, but only one has the right tear-drop shape for the VF, so look closely. I get them off of eBay. I use them pretty much as flashing place holders and augment them with some small LEDs mounted off of the license plate bracket in back. I have some front facing LEDs mounted under the cowl too. They will flash faster, so some resisters or a relay for LED might be wanted. You can even find some relays with a dial to adjust speed.
I am also looking for alternatives as the OEM lights are either bent or the holder broke. Your bike looks AWESOME! It's really inspiring me to resto mod my 1985 VF500F. I assume to fit those wheels you had to swap the fork and swingarm for a newer CBR? How can I find out the mods and upgrades you've done to yours? Do you mind sharing?
