My 83 interceptor has 32000 miles on it, and is leaking antifreeze from the waterpump housing on the left lower side of the engine. Sadly, i must admit that i have not had much time to ride the bike this year, and wonder if i need to replace only the gasket on the pump, or the entire pump and gasket. the bike is not overheating. i rode 200 miles on it on labor dayand it did just fine. I am looking at a couple of LONG rides coming up this summer, and want to get it ready.

    what do you all think?

It's probably just a gasket, but I won't rule out the pump. If it were me, and the pump were not expensive, I'd replace it and the gasket, just to be on the safe side. I have seen car water pumps leak and still do keep the engine from over heating.

it is not a BIG leak, just a slow drip, i may leave it and see what happens once i get to riding it more.

90% of the time means replace pump and gasket. Check with Honda Dealer to see if these are discontinued. If so, start trolling E-bay.

Is it coming out of the weep hole on the bottom of the pump? That would mean the shaft seal is gone. If it's not coming from there then the gasket should do it.
