I'm ridiculously pumped. I just made the purchase today. The owner is going to hold onto the bike for me until I get back from my honeymoon (Aug. 20th) so that my old lady isn't pissed at me for being off on my new bike the entire week before our wedding. Again, I'm unreasonably excited about he whole thing. I purchased my first bike in college back in '07, and held onto it until '09. It was a 1982 Suzuki GS550L. I miss that bike like you cant imagine. After a few years off of 2 wheels, I made the decision that it was time to get back on. I was searching for either a 919, a CB1000, or a Gen 6 VFR. The VFR won, and here I am! I'll be posting pictures once I get home from my honeymoon, and will be looking for some people to ride with. Anyone from around Baltimore? How about the Canton area of Bmore?

Congrats on your new toy!! The VFR is a solid machine that will last for years. Hope you had some money left over to buy some safety gear. Please post some pics when you get a chance.

    A little more info:

Here are a few pictures of "my girls"... first (and most importantly), here is the most scantily-clad picture that I could muster of my wife-to-be:

Hell yeah my calves are burnt. Now that I've got that out of the way, here are three pics of the new viffer that were used in the ad that I responded to:

The mods that I know of are as follows:

    -Heated Grips
    -Double Bubble
    -12V Outlet
    -Single seat

I don't believe that the PO has done flapper or pair mods... I'll find out when I pick the bike up on Aug. 21st or 22nd (when I get back from my honeymoon). In the nearish future, I'll be looking into the capability of the current electrical system to see about adding additional lights; I'll be looking into the "must do" mods (flapper, pair, snorkel), and I'll be learning to become a better rider, as my total motorcycle experience isn't anything to brag about. I rode my 1982 GS550L for 2 years, but didn't rack up nearly as many miles as I should have. I'm very excited about the next few years of riding and life, and I'm also excited that I just found VFRWorld! I'm also on advrider.com, and have just recently become a member of VFRDiscussion. I'm trying both viffer forums out before I make a decision on which one to stick with.

I should also point out that I plan on riding the bike about 9 months out of the year as a primary commuter. I'm interested in ways to stay dry, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, safe, and happy. I will also (sadly) be keeping the bike outdoors for now :eek:hwell:. I live in a trendy part of Baltimore where garages are $$$$. Looking to purchase a home in the next 18 months, and a garage is on the "must have" list, along with other things that I'm currently missing dearly (dishwasher, washer/dryer). Any tips on how to keep the bike as nice as possible while still storing it outside would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to start another thread on the topic, and will update this thread with a link when I do.

I, for one, had no idea that you even had calves. Truth be told, I was focused elsewhere. Now you were saying something about a bike?

JK. Congrats on the marriage, and the purchase!

If you decided to keep the bike outside. I would get a good cover, lock and alarm.
I would tie a string to my toe to the bike every nite when I go to bed as well just in case.Nice bike you got there. Check and make sure the recall harness has been done.
