So i just picked this up Friday evening. 1991 VFR 750F. Washed and waxed her today. Few questions tho, Has anyone purchased a replacement windscreen off of eBay? My factory one looks like hell and i would much rather have a darker tinted screen on there. Has anyone had any luck with them?

I also removed the rear fender. Dremeled it and left the plate holder. Debating on removing it all together and mounting the plate under the brake light and adding some white LEDs to illuminate it. Full LED Replacement bulbs are in the mail! :) Onto what you clicked this thread originally for..PICTURES!

Wow! That's a nice clean 3rd Gen you got there. I purchased my Zero Gravity for my 5 Gen off of eBay from their outlet store. Not sure if they still have any for the 3rd Gen but you can check them out. I'd stay away from the Chinese made ones, haven't heard much good about them, especially the body panels.

    Cheers

I have purchased a black Chinese screen and it manages. It is harder material than the original one, so avoid tightening the screws too tight. Also it was missing the air inlet hole, so it caused quite a lot of turbulence, so I Dremelled the hole.

I also have RCA Touring screen for colder and rainy days to have a bit better coverage from air flow.

Check oot some of the cleaner/polishing product from the major players. (Meguirs-Eagle One ect) for your windscreen. The inside of the screens can also be painted and will look high gloss from the outside view. Re attachment of windscreens can be effected with nylon fastners.

Not a clue aboot those Ebay shields. Some of those Ebay ads make a shitload of things sound like the greatest thing since canned oatmeal..

Your chainguard can also be painted. Take it off the bike and clean it up with solvent inside and oot. Paint thinner is as good as anything. Avoid MEK ect. The trick to painting raw ABS is to prime it first with Krylon "Fusion". Fusion is a finish coat for plastic but is a great primer as well for other type paints. RTFM ...

I woulda bought the un-cut rear fender off yah! You got a volt meter in your cup holder on the left side fairing? How many miles on that beasty? No side stand fairing but you got a nice centre stand.

Far as replacement screens, you got two options, actually three. 1. Chinese crap off ebay, will last 6 months and crack - 2. Skidmax windscreens, excellent product - 3. MRA from Twistedthrottle.com (german unit, thin lexan, good quality) I have one of each of these on my two gen 3 bikes.

How much you pay? CHeerS and happy/safe motoring

Yes i have a volt meter. Was told it replaced the stock clock that didn't work. The rectifier was upgraded to the R1 unit and any other maintenance has been performed so its ready to ride for a long time. It has 59,xxx miles. I paid $1300. I have a side stand, What is a side stand fairing? I will avoid those windscreens on eBay, glad i asked.

The 90-93 had a small plastic fairing over the sidestand. Still available in the UK, non-existent in the US.

I prefer the MRA touring windscreen. There a several sources for windscreens still from reputable mfgrs.
