    Hi all:

    Just joined
Have owned a 1984 750 intercetor for 6 years now
This winter is the winter to do brakes and exhaust etc
We have a short riding season
Live in Newfoundland ( Island on the east coast of Canada )
Could spend hours searching but maybe you could help me
    I really like my bike
Will keep the stock parts but want less weight more power !!!!!
Are there still aftermarket exhaust headers etc available ?
I guess then rejet kit and free flowing air filter
Could I expect much of an increase in HP and corrosponding torque
Is it recommended to do this ????

    Anyway thanks in advance
    Islander

Aftermarket parts are going to be hard to find since you have a vintage machine. Off the top of my head, I do not know anyone that still makes aftermarket pipes, maybe Vance and Hines or Kerker. I suggest keeping an eye on ebay. Sometimes parts pop up that you might be looking for.

You can still get jet kits for them but i don't think exhaust systems are readily available for them. You could make your own: get an aftermarket can off ebay and have a muffler shop adapt it to your bike. The nice thing about that particular vintage bike is people have sorted out the problems/mods for them. You'll have to do some research (sorry) but you will find lots of info on them.

The Newfie is halfway to the UK - shouldn't be a problem. And the winter is long enough that the shipping time is not an issue either.

I got to spend 2 weeks there in 98 and it was great...the people are so friend the lady at the Visitor's Center in the St. John's airport made it a point to inform all the folks from the States that the legal age of consent was 14.
